Maryport Golf Club hosts beginner Ladies golf sessions at Penrith Golf Hub

Maryport Golf Club have introduced 13 ladies to the fun and challenging game of golf! Visiting the state-of-the-art golf facility at Penrith Golf Hub, the ladies are learning the basics of golf in a fun and relaxed atmosphere under the watchful eye of Professional Johnathan Graham.

The coaching sessions are designed to help new golfers improve their technique, and to correct any bad habits the more established golfers might have picked up. Providing basic knowledge and skills training needed to increase confidence on the course, Professional Johnathan Graham has created a 6-week interactive and informative way to provide the ladies with the perfect grounding to the game.

Lady Captain and organiser Lindsay Gray, hopes that the sessions will encourage more Ladies to take up the game. “Encouraging more Ladies and Girls to play golf is high on the agenda for my captaincy. Not only is golf a great form of exercise it provides many mental health benefits too. I hope the relaxed atmosphere and the West Cumbrian welcome will grow the Ladies Section at Maryport Golf Club.”

A safe place to try something new, in an environment where everyone was the new girl, plans are being drawn up for future sessions and ladies are encouraged to contact Lindsay to get involved.
